An electrophysiological study (EP study) is an invasive procedure that evaluated abnormal heart rhythm disturbances.
Instructions for electrophysiological study (EP study)
- Pre-operative work-up
- You must not eat or drink anything from midnight the night before the test.
- Stop anticoagulation medication 24 hours prior to procedure except for Coumadin.
- If you take Coumadin please ask your physician for specific instructions.
- You will be asked to arrive at the hospital earlier before the procedure.
- You MUST bring a responsible adult with you to escort you home.
