Robert Hevia, DNP, MBA

Robert Hevia is a family nurse practitioner with over 13 years’ experience as an advanced practice provider specializing in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Nova Southeastern University graduating Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the Chancellor’s Award upon commencement. He then earned a Master of Science degree with Honors and Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) degree from Barry University.

Robert Hevia concentrated his doctoral work on the screening and prevention of cardiovascular disease in Hispanic women. He also obtained a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Barry University’s Andreas School of Business with a concentration in healthcare administration. He has given several presentations to local emergency service providers with lectures on electrocardiogram interpretation and emergent cardiac care.

He continues to have strong ties in the academic community serving frequently as a cardiac care clinical preceptor for student nurse practitioners of several local universities. Despite his involvement as a provider in the management of cardiovascular disease, he remains passionate about disease prevention. He has a clear focus on the role of nutrition and exercise in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. He holds a national board certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is recognized as a Cardiac Care Associate with the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
