Dr. Swamy obtained her medical degree at Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University in Michigan. After a 3-year fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Loma Linda University, she completed her training as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow at Ascension Saint John’s in Michigan. After a highly productive four years as a faculty interventional cardiologist at Loma Linda University Health in Loma Linda, California, Dr. Swamy has taken her talents to South Florida to serve the greater Miami community.
Dr. Swamy holds board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Cardiovascular CT. Her clinical and research interests include complex coronary interventions, coronary physiology including microvascular dysfunction, peripheral interventions, and coronary CTA. She has authored or co-authored over a dozen published articles, and has served as PI or sub-I on five large-scale clinical trials including PROTECT IV and EMPOWER-CAD. In recognition of her achievements, she was awarded the prestigious SCAI 30 In Their 30’s Award from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions – an award that highlights early-career interventionalists who epitomize the qualities expected of future leaders in our field.
Dr. Swamy has become beloved by her patients, peers and trainees alike. A fierce patient advocate who emphasizes ethical and evidence-based contemporary cardiovascular medicine, Dr. Swamy takes pride in treating her patients like her own family. Above all, she understands the crucial importance of truly listening to each patient and making a personal connection with them. In her precious spare time, Dr. Swamy enjoys art, travel, community-building, and spending time with her two sons.
